BlackBerry Limited launched one of the world first digital cockpit solutions that empower the automakers to provide the in-car experience. The QNX platform grants the automakers to get reliable and secured QNX based digital instrument cluster and infotainment that provides access to latest android based applications.
Using the in-car experience the drivers can experience security, safety and reliability needed. The Blackberry ISO 26262 safety certified hypervisor provides an end to end security with the operating system. The applications that hold the cluster, infotainment and the driver information are isolated from one another to keep the information safe. The isolation helps to maintain the given the security of the other applications and vehicle safety.
John Wall, Senior Vice President and Co-head of Blackberry Technology Solutions said that “As the Electronic Control Unit of the cars will become prominent, the driver experience will revolve around safe, secure and reliable solution that offers greater driving experience. The new QNX platform was possible because of a partnership between Blackberry and Tata Elxi to support the customization and Android updates. The BlackBerrys QNX platform for digital cockpit helps the company to develop a new vertical of products that can be marketed to automakers. The different products such as QNX Hypervisor for Safety, QNX CAR platform for infotainment, and secured Android Implementation can help in delivering technology that can accelerate the automaker’s project.
