According to Microsoft’s 2022 Work Trend Index¹, 43% of remote employees and 44% of hybrid employees do not feel included when joining remote meetings, and 74% of managers say they don’t have the influence or resources to make change for employees. And it will only get worse, as 51% of employees say they would like to go fully remote in the next year. This chasm is real, and the lack of quality, equitable interactions between remote and in-room meeting participants will become more strained if IT does not address this chasm.
