Founded in 2020, Digital Edge owns and runs 21 data centers in six countries around the Asia Pacific region, totaling more than 500 megawatts of power. To meet customer demands for cloud, AI, and connectivity, the business is currently developing an additional 300 megawatts on campuses in Japan, Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Samuel Lee, Chief Executive of Digital Edge said this capital would be used to offer the “next phase of AI-ready data center developments” for the company.
SEL2, Digital Edge’s third data center in Korea, was inaugurated in October on the 100-megawatt Incheon site on the outskirts of Seoul. According to the company, the site, which already contains one 36-megawatt building, would eventually rank among the biggest commercial data center projects in the area. Additionally, earlier this year, Digital Edge opened a 23-megawatt data center in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Digital Edge will use the capital to establish TY07, its tenth data center in Japan, a hyperscale edge facility in downtown Tokyo, and to commence the first facility for a 300-megawatt campus in Navi Mumbai, India, in the second quarter of 2025.
