It’s all about Cloudflare
Cloudflare, a company that helps build a better Internet, recently announced Magic WAN with Magic Firewall and a new strategic partnership with primary networking and data center providers as part of Cloudflare One. Cloudflare One is known to be the leading cloud-based network-as-a-service solution.
Magic WAN with Magic Firewall
Magic WAN with Magic Firewall is a one-stop solution for consumers to connect and secure offices, data, cloud networks, devices, and more without depending on hardware boxes. For secure and fast connectivity, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution helps integrate any traffic source to Cloudflare’s global network. In contrast, Magic Firewall plays an essential role by integrating with Magic WAN to enforce security rules across all traffic. Therefore, it is said that Magic WAN and Magic Firewall are the best magic for businesses to boost their network and improve security cost-efficiently in comparison to legacy MPLS architecture.
Matthew Prince says
Matthew Prince, Co-Founder and CEO of Cloudflare, commented: “Companies burn significant resources provisioning and maintaining legacy connectivity technologies like MPLS.”
He further added, “With Magic WAN, we’re leveraging Cloudflare’s global network to offer reliable, faster, much more cost-effective connectivity with security built in. And by partnering with the leading SD-WAN vendors, we can ensure Magic WAN can be a drop-in replacement for legacy connectivity solutions.”
Prince also adds, “The modern enterprise network deserves a modern take on networking, and Magic WAN is just that.”
Security solutions
Businesses nowadays totally rely on connectivity solutions and traditional security designed explicitly for in-office corporate networks. This is because of a rising workforce that is further responsible for the slow speeds of VPN that frustrates employees, and the security team faces a challenge for maintaining the expensive patchwork of security solutions.
Cloudflare One protects the rising number of organizations that depend on the Internet to run business by boosting applications, devices, and entire networks to keep workforces secure and connected.
Ghassan Abdo, Vice President Research, Worldwide Telecommunications at IDC, commented: “Increased cloud adoption coupled with the recent pivot to remote workers has increased the volume of Internet, SaaS, and IaaS traffic, straining traditional network architectures, such as MPLS.”
He further added, “WAN architectures that offer a global scale, integrated enterprise network security functions, and direct, secure connectivity to remote users are key to organizations looking to increase their operational agility and lower total costs of ownership.”
Being a part of Cloudflare One suite, Magic WAN protectively links any traffic source such as offices, data centers, cloud properties, and devices to Cloudflare’s global network. Further, it allows consumers to configure private and public routing policies to attract traffic where it needs to go, all within one, single SaaS solution.
Magic Firewall’s central dashboard helps organizations to define security rules for the network to keep data, employees, and offices secure wherever they are.
Cloudflare is strongly supporting consumers with an ability to:
- Use any hardware or carrier
- Connect every cloud property, office, and data center
- Secure corporate networks without compromising on performance
- Protect all traffic from a straightforward user interface (Magic Firewall)
Cloudflare has joined forces with leading network on-ramp providers such as Aruba and VMware.
Enguerrand Gave, Head of Portals & Services at RATP, Paris’s public transit agency, commented: “Cloudflare has built one of the world’s most interconnected networks.”
He further added, “And to have built-in DDoS protection, traffic acceleration, network firewall, and zero trust functionality, over Cloudflare’s global IP network that can be managed using a single management plane — is arguably the biggest leap in enterprise network technology in the last couple of decades.”
Mark Vondemkamp, Vice President of Product, Networking and Security at VMware, commented: “VMware SD-WAN virtualizes the WAN to decouple network services from the underlying hardware — providing agility and performance for all enterprises, and is a foundational component of the VMware Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform. VMware and Cloudflare share a vision to provide customers a cost-effective, turn-key, and more secure Global WAN.”
Fraser Street, Head of WAN Technical Alliances for Aruba, commented: “Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, is pleased to collaborate with Cloudflare to develop solutions that will enable our customers to easily deploy the Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN platform, acquired with Silver Peak, as the enterprise connectivity on-ramp to Cloudflare Magic WAN and Magic Firewall.”
