ESG recently completed a survey of 2,000 IT decision makers with a high level of knowledge and influence over their organizations’ end-user device environment. The survey asked respondents how often their organization refreshes enduser devices, but also covered several related concepts like device security, user productivity, and ease of support. Additionally, the survey covered macro business concepts like customer satisfaction. The research showed that organizations that prioritize more frequent device improvements, referred to as Device Accelerators in this summary, outperform their peers that deprioritize device investment across the board:
They have increased user productivity by 54% more over the past 12 months.
They have reduced the time required to support and manage devices by 56% more over the past 12 months. They are significantly more likely to rate the security characteristics of their device environment as excellent.
Depending on the security attribute in question, Device Accelerators were between 24% and 36% more likely to rate their capabilities as excellent.
In turn, these three benefits support:
Higher end-user satisfaction: Device Accelerators report a 4.6x higher user satisfaction score for their digital work experience (using a net promoter score methodology).
An improved ability to support customers: More productive end users are better able to support the
organization’s customers. In turn, their organizations are 2.1x more likely to report they typically exceed their customer satisfaction goals.
